We respect your privacy and are committed to handling your data transparently.

• Account data: email address, display name, and password (hashed — never stored in plain text).
• Subscription data: billing details processed and stored by Stripe. vetivr. does not store full card numbers.
• Journal & collection data: fragrance entries, wear logs, notes, ratings, moods, and Spirit Scent quiz results you create.
• Usage data: pages visited, features used, session duration, and device/browser information.

We do not sell your personal information. Ever.

How We Use Your Information

We use your data to:

• Provide and improve the vetivr. service.
• Power personalized recommendations (Scent Discovery, Spirit Scent).
• Process subscription payments and manage your account.
• Send transactional emails (confirmations, receipts, account alerts).
• Send our newsletter and product updates — only if you opted in at signup. Unsubscribe any time.
• Understand product usage and fix bugs.

Third-Party Services & Affiliates

vetivr. integrates with third-party services to operate. Each has their own privacy policy:

• Supabase — database and authentication (supabase.com)
• Stripe — payment processing (stripe.com)
• Vercel — hosting and CDN (vercel.com)
• Beehiiv — email newsletter (beehiiv.com)

We also participate in affiliate programs with Sephora, FragranceNet, Ulta, Nordstrom, and Amazon. Affiliate links may set cookies on third-party sites. vetivr. does not receive or store the data these retailers collect.

Cookies & Tracking

vetivr. uses essential cookies required for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party trackers on our own platform.

Affiliate links may result in cookies being set by our retail partners when you click through and make a purchase. These are governed by the retailers' respective cookie policies.

Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS), encrypted storage, and row-level security in our database. Access to user data is restricted to essential operations. No security system is perfect, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

Your Rights & Choices

You have the right to:

• Access the data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate personal data.
• Delete your account and associated data.
• Export your journal and collection data (feature coming soon).
• Unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time via the link in each email.

Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., billing records).

Children's Privacy

vetivr. is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. We will notify you of material changes by email or in-app notice. Continued use of vetivr. after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the State of Washington, United States. Any disputes relating to your privacy or this policy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Washington State.
